<div style="padding-left: 30px"><div style="padding-left: 30px">Nhân vật chính của phim là sát thủ huyền thoại người Venezuela – Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, biệt danh “Carlos the Jackal” (bản dịch ở Việt Nam gọi là “Carlos chó rừng”). Tên tuổi của Carlos vang dội nhờ tài xuất quỷ nhập thần, cũng như các vụ án giết người, đánh cướp, đặt bom… mà hắn là tác giả vào thập niên 70 – 80. Carlos bị Pháp kết án vắng mặt năm 1992 tội khủng bố và hiện đang thụ án tù chung thân tại Paris.
